Los Angeles - Christopher Wallace, better known as Biggie Smalls and the Notorious B.I.G, was shot four times on March 9, 1997, the night he was murdered, according to a long-sealed autopsy report released by authorities Friday.

The Brooklyn, New York rapper sustained gunshot wounds to his chest, shoulder, leg, scrotum, and forearm, the autopsy reports according to TMZ. According to the autopsy, the first 3 shots were not fatal. The 4th and fatal gunshot entered Wallace's body through his right hip and tore through several vital organs. It eventually came to rest near his left shoulder.The bullet also ruptured the 24-year-old's colon, liver, heart, and the upper lobe of his left lung.The report listed Wallace as 'morbidly obese.'According to The Associated Press, the 23-page report also states that no drugs or alcohol were found in his system. The drive-by shooting death of the Notorious B.I.G occurred on March 9, 1997 in Los Angeles, California after the Hip-Hop star had left a music industry event. It remains one of LA's 'highest profile' unsolved murders.Biggie died just six months after his 'friend-turned foe' Tupac Shakur was shot following a boxing match in Las Vegas on September 7, 1996. Shakur was taken to the hospital and died six days later, on September 13.Although, Christopher Wallace and Tupac Shakur were both killed on busy streets in front of many witnesses, there has never been an arrest in either case, Complex magazine reported earlier this on year, on the 15th anniversary of Biggie's death. Federal agents conducted a bi-coastal search for Wallace's killer, as during the time of both Wallace and Shakur's murders, a major East Coast-West Coast rap rivalry had been going on. Investigators wanted to look into the possibility of the coast vs. coast feud being a motive. In 2005, federal prosecutors that there wasn't enough evidence to pursue a case, The Associated Press reports. Many documentaries and books on conspiracy theories surrounding both rappers' deaths have been written. Greg Kading, a retired L.A.P.D detective who was in charge of the special task force that investigated Wallace's murder from 2006-2009, has written his own book, Murder Rap: The Untold Story of the Biggie Smalls & Tupac Shakur Murder Investigations. According toComplex, Kading's book is a lot different from all the rest. To explain why requires a bit of back story. In 2002, Biggie's widow singer Faith Evans, his mother Voletta Wallace, and his children filed a wrongful death claim against LAPD Chief Bernard Parks, former Police Chief WIllie Williams, and others. Voletta Wallace dropped the claim in 2004. A second suit was filed in April, 2007. This time Biggie's family once again sued the city of Los Angeles, but also LAPD officer Rafael Perez. The suit alleged that Perez had conspired with former officers David Mack and Nino Durden to murder the rapper. The judge dismissed the case on the grounds that 'Biggie's family didn't file the claim within the designated time frame,' but they went forward with the suit regardless. The lawsuit was officially dismissed in 2010. In between 2007 and 2010, the claim was changed from Perez conspiring with Mack and Durden to Perez and Mack conspiring with Death Row Records Boss Marion 'Suge' Knight to murder the rapper.Somewhere in between both wrongful death claims, The LAPD found a new sense of motivation to solve the Notorious B.I.G's murder. That's where officer Greg Kading got his new assignment, as head of the special task force to investigate the murder.According to Complex, Kading's efforts led to the sworn confessions of two people who said they played a role in the murders of Christopher Wallace and Tupac Shakur. Right after securing these confessions, Kading was suddenly pulled off the case. While investigating Christopher Wallace's death, Kading was also under investigation by LAPD Internal Affairs for allegedly making false statements regarding a completely separate case. He was cleared of any wrongdoing. Kading grew frustrated and quit the force in 2010, but he made sure to make copies of his evidence, so he could he put all his findings into the book he intended to write someday. Kading's book Murder Rap was released on September 28, 2011. The book claims that rapper, producer, and entrepreneur Sean 'Diddy' Combs orchestrated Tupac's murder while Marion 'Suge' Knight ordered Biggie's hit. Right when Kading was about to close the file, he was cut from the case.Diddy said the story was 'pure fiction' and 'completely ridiculous.'Additionally, , Suge Knight's 'baby mama' who Kading identifies in his book as 'Theresa Swann,' revealed that Knight gave her money to pay gang member Wardell 'Poochie' Fouse to kill Biggie, HipHopDX reports. In an interview with Complex earlier this year, Kading said that Tupac was killed by Orlando Anderson and Biggie was killed by 'Poochie.' Both shooters are dead. Anderson was killed in 1998 and 'Poochie' was killed in 2003.'Both shooters are dead. That's all the justice that these cases will see,' the former LAPD detective told Complex.On Friday, Perry R. Sanders Jr, a lawyer for the Wallace family's estate told The Associated Press he was completely unaware an autopsy report of Christopher Wallace's death would be released. He criticized the LAPD for claiming to have solved the murder, yet not closing the case. He said it was 'ridiculous' that an arrest in the case has not been made. The FBI did not make any comments on the release of the coroner's report Friday or reveal whether it was still investigating Wallace's death.
